The Festool Difference

The Festool Difference

Dec 20th 2024

Many Festool power tools have already been in use for 30 years – or longer. The long service life of their professional tools is no coincidence. One thing is essential to the successful design and manufacture of professional tools which are high-performing and robust yet reliable and lightweight, such as bench-mounted circular saws, compound mitre saws, jigsaws, circular saws, plunge-cut saws, routers, stirrers, electronic planers, polishers, drills, hammer drills and all types of sanding machines, such as eccentric sanders, orbital sanders, long-reach sanders, angle grinders, belt sanders, as well as construction site radios, LED working lights and many more: You have to know, think, feel and live trade. Uncompromising. With your head, your heart and your hands.

Dust Extractors

Festool's mobile dust extractors allow users to quickly and safely extract dust, dirt and water – whether on construction sites, in workshops or garages. Their strong suction power and large container geometry provide a wide range of possible uses, as well as a large volume. When power tools are connected to the extractors, the automatic On and Off switch ensures that the extraction function is operated in an easy and reliable manner. In addition, the practical SYS-Dock function means that the Systainers required can be directly attached to the extractor.

Sanders

When Festool says their sanding lineup is complete, they're not just talking about the tools – but a full system including abrasives, pads, dust extraction and accessories. The multifunction Rotex epitomizes the strength of this strategy. Move from aggressive material removal to fine sanding, to polishing with the push of a button. And for larger surface preparation like drywall or wall cleansing, the Planex sanders easily tackle the job with little to no dust. Characteristically, Festool has gone to great lengths to design sanders, accessories, and abrasives that work seamlessly as a system, resulting in nearly dust-free operation, low vibration, longer service life, and, of course, an immaculate surface.

Routers

A router is equipped with a powerful electric motor which operates at between 10,000 and 24,000 revolutions per minute. This professional tool, which has been developed for manual operation, allows users to precisely route chamfers and grooves, as well as to profile every type of workpiece. In addition, it is ideal for routing with templates or freehand routing. The router is a tool which is intuitive to operate thanks to its torsionally rigid base plate, interchangeable base runners which can be changed without tools and copying rings as well as uncomplicated router changeover. No workshop should be without one – particularly in combination with additional products from the Festool system, such as the right extractor, guide rails and multi-routing templates.

Granat is Festool's most long-lasting and highest performing abrasive and is well suited for nearly all applications, including bare wood, paints, most modern paint systems, VOC clear coats, plastic materials, solid surface materials, acrylics, and composites. Hardened Aluminum Oxide, Synthetic Resin, Closed Coated.

Rubin was developed for natural wood, wood composites and veneers and has a special coating which sheds wood fibers. Use on hardwoods like oak or maple, soft woods like pine or fir, tropical woods like ebony or teak, as well as on wood-based products. Aluminum Oxide, Synthetic Resin, Closed Coated.

GRANAT Net abrasive is the perfect solution for sanding materials that produce a large amount of dust. The open net structure allows for increased dust extraction across the entire surface — for working cleanly, a high material removal capacity, and a long service life of the abrasive.
